Waterloo Regional Synchronized swimmers produced excellent results at the Provincial Trials meet held at Wilfrid Laurier University last weekend.
With 400 athletes competing, Waterloo swept the top five places in the Tier 1 Figure category with Keshia Chowan finishing first, Sabrina Horner second and Alicia Tracey third. Alina Ko was fourth and Victoria Krzywicki was fifth.
In the Tier 2 Figure competition, Hunter Le Truong-Nguyen was first and Delanie Klein was second.
In Tier 3, Jane Oczkowski placed fourth and Christine Horner was fifth.
Hannah Sine was seventh in Tier 4 competition, while Jillian Boa was sixth in Tier 5.
In the Tier 6 Team Division, Kristy McDonnell's team placed first in the Open category.
Team members include Nadia Andruchow, Mallory Boyer, Lindsay Ernst, Shelley Goll, Stacy Kivelia, Jenna Kressler, Allie Simanzik, Syd Streleau and Caley Hoediono.
Placing fourth in the Tier 6 (12-15 age group), was Kelly McDonnell's team of Daniella Baita, Alyssa Bezeau, Renee Hoegy, Ellyn Klea, Rachel Kowalski, Samantha Kowalski, Stephanie Uhrig, Erin Noll and Emily Verbiski.
In the Tier 6 (12-15 age group) Solo category, Sam Kowalski finished 12th and in the Tier 6 Duet competition Bezeau and Rachel Kowalski placed 11th.
Members of the Tier 6 teams will compete next at the Provincial Championships in Etobicoke Feb. 19-20.
