Canada looks to gain ground on Russians

OTTAWACanada looked to gain some ground at the 9th World Junior Championships in Moscow, Russia Friday.

Canada’s junior national team competed in the figures event where they saw one member finish in the top ten. Belinda Potvin-Serres was the only Canadian able to crack the top ten which was dominated by the Russians who held the top six spots.

Potvin-Serres picked up marks of 80.190 with 50 per cent of that mark being attributed to her final results in team and combo.

Elise Marcotte finished 11th with a mark of 79.720, while Sarah-Eve Pelletier came in 34th with a score of 77.412. Marcotte swims as Canada’s soloist at the World Championships.
