Waterloo Regional Synchro's Tier 4 team won silver in Quebec.

More than 200 recreational swimmers competed in Orangeville last weekend at the Synchro Ontario Routine competition, and Waterloo Regional Synchro continued their gold-medal streak from the Southwest Regional championships last month.

In Trillium level 1 team, aged eight and under, Waterloo Regional Synchro's Natalie Arsenault, Abigayle Black, Savannah Heintzman and Sarah Patterson-Cole won gold.

In the Trillium level 1 team competition, featuring nine-and 10-year-olds, Waterloo Regional Synchro's Simone Ashley, Rachel Campbell, Lindsay Hergott, Maegan McCallum, Brooke Marshall, Laura Mueller, Gabriella Morgenstern, Julia Schwindt and Jessica Zurhound also won gold.

The second Waterloo Regional Synchro team of Mara Bender, Emily Boehmer, Martha Charters, Natalie Major, Janelle Neufeld, Emily Reitzel, Rachel Scarpone and Brook-lin Thurow brought home the silver medal.

In the Trillium level 2 competition, featuring 13- and 14-year-olds, the Waterloo Regional Synchro team of Samantha Gerber, Kristine Nightingale, Tara Nightingale, Radmila Kovac, Laura Twomey, Nadia Jorgenson, Shanna Mattice, Rachel Foster and Kathryn Weber also won gold.

Top athletes from Ontario and Quebec gathered in Gatineau, Que., last week for the first annual Interprovincial synchronized swimming meet. The Waterloo Regional Synchronized swimming club emerged as the top-ranked Ontario Club with five podium finishes.

In the Tier 2 figure competition, Hunter Le Truong-Nguyen finished in first place followed by Delanie Klein in second and Claudia Mazurek in sixth place.

Jillian Boa won the gold in Tier 5 Figure competition.

She joined with her teammates Mallory Burt, Christine Callaghan, Richelle Gagne, Aileen Hodgson, Katy Missio and Hannah Sine to win the silver medal in the Tier 4 Combo event at the meet.
