Of the 11 teams,
duets or solos representing the Burlington
Synchronized Swimming Club at last weekend's
West Regionals in London, four picked up
first-place trophies.
The Tier 5 team finished ahead of London and
Brant Synchro, while the duet team of Robin
Lynch and Rachel Wynn took second.
Only Waterloo Region outpointed the BSSC Tier
1 team, which beat five other squads.
Three BSSC duets earned first-place marks at
the competition.
The Tier 3 duet of Katie Lawson and Morgan
Leblanc were tops in a field of 11 pairs, the
Tier 4 duet of Kaitlyn Buis and Alisha Halgren
won in a field of three, and the Tier 7 duet of
Hilary Baines and Meghan Danielson was the only
pair in the final.
The Tier 4 team was second best among five
competing, the Tier 3 team finished third in a
field of six and the Tier 2 team was seventh of
eight squads.
The duet of Stephanie Saunders and Alicia
Worlidge finished third among six pairs in Tier
6.
The BSSC's Tier 6 solo performer, Michelle
Reichert, was fourth among nine.
Synchro clubs with Tiers 3-4-5, Tiers 3-4-5
Duet and Tier 4/5 Combination (different tiered
teams) that placed first or second at Ontario
regional championships are eligible to compete
at the first Ontario Quebec Cup this weekend at
club Les Fees d'eau de Gatineau in Quebec.
The BSSC select team, meanwhile, will compete
at the upcoming nationals in Saskatoon June 1-4.
