Club members earned five podium placements at the recent Lisa Alexander Figures Meet at the Victor Davis Pool in Guelph. The meet is a key early-bird competition that kicks off the 2005 synchronized swimming season of team, duet, solo and figures meets throughout Ontario, leading up to provincial and national championships in May and June.
Katie LePage received the Sheilagh Croxon Trophy for first place in figures (technical elements) at the tier 6 level. In a field of 96 competitive athletes from 13 clubs across Ontario, LePage shared the podium with teammates Julia Maclean, who took the silver, and Brianna MacLellan, who finished fifth.
Stephanie Geller took first place in tier 3 in a field of 57 athletes, while Christa Hutton came fourth out of 42 in the tier 4 category.
Later this month, Durham Synchro is sending four provincial- and national-level teams to Kitchener-Waterloo's Wilfrid Laurier University, where they will compete at provincial trials.
