Synchro swimmers fourth in class

The Guelph Synchronized Swim Club's Tier 7
team placed fourth overall in the 2004 Ontario Provincial Synchronized Swimming
Championships.
The local club sent its tier 6 and 7 teams to the meet
that featured more than 200 swimmers representing 16 clubs from across ontario
battling for provincial titles in compulsory figures, solo, duet and team
competitions.
The Tier 7 team coached by Anne Fraser included Devon
Murphy, Katie Hammond, Brooke Lyons, Laura Walker, Lucy Satzewich, Erin Kennedy,
Tanya Wilson, Natalie Wilson.
The Tier 6 Duet of Natalie Wilson and
Nequita Niemandt placed sixth while Wilson was 10th in the Tier 6 individual
figures.
Guelph's Tier 6 team consisted of Adrienne Bortolotti, Krissy
Einboden, Rebecca Maule, Alison Merla, Robyn Meyer, Katie Millar, Nequita
Niemandt and Jessica Wilson and was coached by Alison Merla.
During the
competition, athletes were treated to a display by the Canadian Olympic team
swimming its Olympic routines in front of an audience for the first
time.
On Thursday, March 11 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Victor Davis Pool,
the Guelph club will is to host the six local Girl Guide groups for an evening
demonstration of their routines. After the demonstrations, the guides are to
join the club's swimmers in the pool for a 45-minute synchronized swim
lesson.
