The team qualified with a second-place finish Feb. 29 at the provincial championships in Etobicoke.
This team of senior synchronized swimmers range in age from 13-17, with six of the eight athletes attending local high schools.
They have competed as a group for a number of years, currently under the direction of head coach Janet Herman.
The girls have an excellent shot at winning a gold medal at the Canadians in Etobicoke in May.
Synchro Canada has divided Canada into three divisions. Eastern divisionals include all swimmers in Ontario and Quebec.
The top-ranked competitors from each division must achieve their Tier 6 competitive level before qualifying for the nationals.
The BSSC Tier 6/7 team's second-place finish at provincials reflects the high calibre of the team, since many Canadian Olympic synchro swimmers originate from Quebec and Ontario.
