From this Forum the High Performance Committee was formed, and the development of High Performance Camps for Summer 2004.

High Performance Initiative Report (March 2004) from Synchro Swim Ontario President Lynn Hammond

The Top 25 athletes from Tiers 6 and 7 were selected based on figure scores from each of Provincial Championships, Divisionals and Nationals at a 40/30/30 split respectively. Tier 1-5 are selected based on their placing at the 2004 Tier Championships. *Note: If a top 25 athlete declines the invitation to attend the camp, the next athlete on the list will be invited.

The province’s top coaches, as selected by Synchro Swim Ontario will be coaching at the camps. 1996 and 2000 Olympic Team Coach Sheilagh Croxon will be the head coach for the Tier 7 Camps.

Athletes will be working on an array of skills; figure development, conditioning appropriate to their skill level, flexibility training, routine skill development, etc.  Coaches and officials have been working together to identify common areas in which the athletes need further development.
