Synchro Canada announces final A, B and Junior National Teams
Winnipeg – Tuesday May 16 –Synchro Canada is thrilled to announce the Official list of athletes on the National A, B and Junior Teams. After two days of hosting National Team Trials at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg on Monday (National A and B) and Tuesday (Junior), 22 athletes have been named to the National Teams. Twelve swimmers have been named to the National A Team while 10 swimmers have been named to each of the B and Junior National Teams.
“I am pleased with the talent and determination I saw in the pool today,” stated Junior National Team Head Coach, Julia Warren. “All the National Team Coaches are looking forward to having their teams centralize in the coming months and, beginning preparation for our major events. We are really excited to bring this talented team to the World Championships in China and I am confident the coaching staff will provide a positive environment along our journey to the World Championships. Canada has lots of talented athletes who are tremendous swimmers with strong athletic abilities and the Junior program is an important stage in the development of the athletes giving them international experience before moving on to the Senior teams.
The swimmers with the top scores from Trials make the National Teams.
The National A team will return home on Tuesday May 16 in preparation to centralize in Montreal with Head Coach Isabelle Taillon on May 26th.
The National B team will return home after their 2 day mini camp in Winnipeg on Wednesday and Thursday before returning home to prepare for their centralization in Vancouver with Head Coach Susan Kemper in June.
The Junior Team will return home after their 2 day mini camp in Winnipeg on Wednesday and Thursday before returning home to prepare for centralization in Toronto at the end of July with Head Coach Julia Warren.
The National A team will prepare for the FINA World Cup in Japan from September 14 -17, 2006.
The National B team will prepare for the US Open in Orlando, Florida in July.
The Junior National Team will prepare for the Junior FINA World Championships in China in October.
